EnergyLab works to support the growth of the clean energy market in Cambodia; for two months, I designed a competition for the 2019 Clean Energy Week in Cambodia that was open for all Cambodian students to join. The competition designed into three categories; Clean Energy Awareness, Clean Energy Usage, and Clean Energy Change. Students created a product at which it could be videos, posters or artworks. I also created 6 career profile videos of professionals in the field of Clean Energy to inspire students to be a part of it.
Solar Lamp Volunteer, Master Trainer
I was selected by the Embassy of India to be one of the 20 Cambodian national Master Trainers to demonstrate and facilitate the construction of 500 solar lamps by public school students. This was an event in honor of the 150th day of the birth of Gandhi. I passed a 20-hour online course required by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. He was trained not only to construct the solar lamp but to explain general renewable energy, solar energy, socio-inequities, and the “right to light”.
International Labor Organization Collaboration
In this class, we are working closely with the International Labor Organization(ILO) to help implement soft skill training in Cambodia. So soft skill is the skill that required to interact effectively with other people, for example, Leadership, Teamwork, Communication. The training module that we working on Leadership. The module encourages participants to reflect on the different type of Leadership Skills that required to be a good leader. They get to discuss Leadership in different context base on experiences and perspective. We lead the training a facilitator not teacher. We are there for questions or participants have any question about the module. The training was implemented first to Liger juniors students.
I also made a poster for the module.
Here is the poster for Leadership:
HIV workshop for Mondulkiri
On March 2018, I was in a cool and interesting class of learning about HIV. The topic of HIV is typically a new concept for Cambodia. The discrimination toward these people who are HIV positive is awful. The topic itself is a complex topic to understand and we tried to spread the awareness of this issue to Cambodian. After 7 weeks, of learning about HIV. It is time for our group to take action to and make sure that we can spread this awareness to Cambodian. We had one work on March as well in Mondulkiri. The workshop was so professional and a lot of students around Cambodia attend the workshop. There were professors and experts about topics that they were leading and we were the only session leader who is students lead.
It was a phenomenal experience, to lead a session that addresses a huge problem in Cambodia. Our session was quite different from other, we did a lot of discussions so participants could share ideas or their antidote to other comfortably and could potentially learn something. Every participant was really passionate so focused and asked a lot of great questions. The session wasn’t long, but we felt like we distributed what we want.
At the end of it, participants were asked to mark their goal to help to spread that information. We were very proud of our-self to see their goals and to see they can become a change agent in Cambodia.
HIV/AIDs leading workshop
On 28th of March, 2017. I am a part of a team that leads HIV workshop at my school. I am one of the session leaders. Before the workshop started I felt a bit nervous and scared about if I miss anything up. During the session I felt like I did well and proud of myself. The students that attend asked so many good questions. It was really valuable to share what I learned to other students about the problem of discrimination toward people living with HIV in Cambodia. I was presenting about treatments in Cambodia, it was really fun with our simulation on candy as medicine, the attendees seem interesting, focus shared a lot of ideas and asked a lot of questions.
My mission statement.
My mission statements are I will share what I learned from this expiration. My neighbor always told me that I am really skinny so I must have HIV. From what I learned I will explain to them about HIV and the problem of discrimination that needed to stop. My family and my relative, been carrying a lot of myth about HIV that it not even true at all. Once I go back to my hometown I’ll clear that up and really hope that they will understand. Not just to my family, I will all help spread this awareness to my friends that don’t know about HIV. I really hope that they will help and stop the discrimination toward PLHIV.
Changing Cambodia 2016-2017
Years went by, As this turned into my senior year, I got more responsibilities in life. I had to cook, live independently and more works. This year, most of my projects that I’ve done made me become a change agent myself. The three projects that made me become a change agent in my country are Preventative health, Game Design, and Change Agents. In those three projects, I helped people in different communities in Cambodia as well as helping myself. As a change agent myself sharing the information that I had learned to help people around it Cambodia it is my honor.
Preventative health is one of the projects that made me become a change agent in the year the of 2016-2017. This is the project that I learned how to keep yourself healthier. I learned a lot from this project about health and how important is it to take care our health. After we learned about those health problems and the solutions to prevent from it, We wanted to share this information with families in Cambodia especially the rural area. Many families in rural Cambodia did not have a high education about health problems that they’re facing. So in this project, my group went out to an island called Koh Rong. This island is one of the farthest islands from the shore, The students on the island did not have a high education on health. So, my group formed a play and presentation on the health problem that they need to be aware of. We went to two different schools to share all the information about health problems to help them help their family, community and most importantly is themselves. As my experience, not many people in Cambodia knows about the health problem or how to prevent from those problems. In my villages, I asked many people, and not most of them know about all the effects of the different disease. My team hoped that that information would help them in their lives and helped other people too.
Game Design is a project that my group created a board game. This board game is special from the other board game, the board game mainly focus on Cambodia curriculum. What this board game does is it helps students in Cambodia to learn different ways from usual, but we’re not trying to change how the whole curriculum system. So, this board game it about solving Climate Change Problem, building solutions in Cambodia to reduce CO2 in Cambodia is the way to win the game. To build solutions, players need to answer questions from their curriculum to earn points to build the solutions to help Cambodia reduce CO2. This game basically helps students to review their lessons, makes new friends, release stress from just sitting down and listen to teacher speaks. Most of the government schools in Cambodia, students sat down and listen to the teacher and took notes the hold time and it keeps of stressful and might get bored out of that. We went to a school in Phnom Penh and most of the students seem like they are enjoying this board game that Liger students created it. It seems like board game is new to Cambodian students so it should be a interesting and new experience for the students. We hope students in Cambodia learn new experience from the game and make the game fun and learn at the same time. So this board game design is to help students so much that the next group would produce this board game to 100 schools in Cambodia.
Change agent is one of the explorations that helps inspired Cambodian people especially the young people of the country become a change agent in Cambodia. In this project my group and I learned about change agent and it inspires me to be a change agent in my community as well as my country. We did a research about different changemaker around the world including Cambodia. After the research, we tried to get the contact from those changemakers and wrote an email to them to ask for permission to interview. Some of those change agents allow us to interview and some are not. I interviewed this cool guy name Peter Dilworth is one of the co-founders of 3Doodler. Peter Dilworth is a change agent that inspired me to become a change agent in my country. I learned a lot from his advised after the interview. His advice is so powerful that inspired a lot of people to become a change agent. This are some of his advices, never give up, do what you passionate about, don’t be scared of failing and more. After all of that, We made a Youtube Channel (Change Agent) and Facebook page (Cambodia Change agent), that had all the interviews with many change agents around the world including Cambodia. All those videos had khmer subtitles on it because our target is Cambodian students and try to inspire them. We shared it on Facebook and Youtube because we found out that most of Cambodian students use Facebook and Youtube. This project goal is to share some advice from many change agents around the world to the world especially Cambodian people and students.
The year of 2016-2017, as I grow older and become senior I had more responsibilities with works. This year I had to cook food, live independently and more works. I had to cook and clean in my apartment with 6 students including me, we had to order our food and make the menu for it too. I had to live independently with my 6 apartment mates. Also, I got more works like homework and house works. Furthermore, I had three projects that made me become an agency in my country. Those three projects are Preventative health, Game Design, and Change Agents. Through those project, I learned lots of information that helped my life that spread that information to Cambodian people and students. Sharing information that I learned my from projects is helping Cambodian students and to inspire them to become an agency in the country helping those people who really need help.
Changing Cambodia 2015-2016
The things that I think should be change in Cambodia is Environment(trash, plastic using). The problem with trash people in cambodia just throwing the rubbish around and everywhere. It not good for the country because when the visitors come to Cambodia and they see the trash everywhere so they don’t want to come to Cambodia. If one visitor think like that they will tell their friends to not come to Cambodia. About the plastic in Cambodia, plastic it really bad to people and trees also animals. Also people they don’t know how to reuse, reduce and recycle the plastic. I see in Cambodia people just throwing the plastic around so I want to show them about the problem about that. Also I want to show Cambodian people to learn how to reduce reuse and recycle the plastic. So that can make our environment better than before. I really want Cambodian people to about plastic so they can help our country and their family.Plastic it take long time to destroy. Plastic have a lot of chemicals it can make people sick or die by the plastic.
I had told people by sharation in Liger and I explain about the problem that I think. I had told my
family and I wrote a book call”Say NO to Plastic Bags”. I think it a really good opportunity to share a about the problem in our country so we can make change to our country. When I explain about the problem and I try to give as many solutions that I have as I can.
I try to change in a small community by let’s them use cloth bags. Before we change the country we change our self first and It try to use cloth bags when I buy somethings. Also my team try to do like me too. I also try to reduce plastics that I use everyday. Sometimes when the seller give me so many plastic bags and more that what I need I told them to take it back.
In 3D Design class we try to help the students in Cambodia to use the computers. 150 school in Cambodia have computers lab but they only learn typing from it. So the minister of education in Cambodia want to team to teach them about 3D design so they have a better view with with computers and it might help their future or Cambodia because of 3D design. We thought that the really great opportunity for us the help Cambodia and to improve our skill because when we teach other people we also learn like experience so it good for use and we must choose to do it. We have three programs to use Blender, 123d design and Free Cad. First we choose to work on 123D design. We have a lesson to teach some students in one school. As the life in change so we have to be flexible and 123D design have a problem with the computer that they have so we now work on Free Cad. Our team come up many solution to help them but we only use one of them, it’s the tutorial videos about how to use tools in 3D design.
I have change Cambodia by tell the kids in my province (where I live) to don’t throw the rubbish all around the place. I know that it hard for the kids to do but I try to help. Some of the kids they try to help but some they don’t. It really hard to change the people that older than you because when we tell them they always said you just the kids I am older than you I know what I need to do. When I ask them when we throw rubbish around is it good?. All the people that I ask said not good they know that is not good but they not practice. They know what they can do to help Cambodia about plastic but they not practice. SO I think I should tell the kids and it work!!!!. Some of the people that I tell them about the plastic some they practice but some not. Last holiday I went to my province and I don’t see a lot of rubbish around so I feel that I also can help change Cambodia also. Than I started to share with them and show them how to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. And all of my family member all practice it. This year I feel I change Cambodia by teaching, and share the thing that I learn to Cambodia people not just old people but the kids and I also help clearing too.

Changing Cambodia 2014-2015
Problem In Cambodia
The problem in Cambodia that I see a lot is about the education. When I mean about education is about the environment, school. The environment it the people in cambodia just throwing the rubbish all around the place. It look not really good to me. Also plastic it really bad to people and trees also animals.
The problem about school is some school in Cambodia they don’t have enough supply like table, book in the library etc. Also about the students they don’t have a lot of supply for their learn so they can’t study really well. About the teacher the teacher don’t have enough salary to feed their family so they not really focus on what they teaching. If the teacher not focus to their teaching lesson so the students they don’t have enough education. Other problem is about their family. The kids they want to go to school but their family not let the kids go to school and let the kids help their family work like house work etc. SO the kids they don’t have enough time for their study and then they will don’t have enough education so they will have really time in the future.
The is the problem that I see the most in Cambodia.
Sulotion
I want to change people’s perspective to help change Cambodia in the good way. Very single people in Cambodia also can help CHANGE CAMBODIA.
What I change Cambodia?
I have change Cambodia a lot by teaching, helping student learn in Takhmao. I help and share the information that I learn from the class Crisis I went to the school and show the students about what I have learn. I change Cambodia by teaching students like in Cambodia we have a lot of crisis so I want to show them to protect them safe from the the crisis that it can happen. Also not just crisis I also teach about natural Disaster in Cambodia and all around the world. I show them because I want to help Cambodian people to know how to protect them safe from getting that natural disaster. In Cambodia the problem that we have a the most is flooding. I learn a lot about flooding so I want to share the information that I had learn to the student in Cambodia also. When do I mean is Cambodia have a lot of flood so I teach them when we have flood what can we before and after the flood. Also not just teach about flood I teach more information like Volcano, lightning etc.
I have change Cambodia by tell the kids in my province (where I live) to don’t throw the rubbish all around the place. I know that it hard for the kids to do but I try to help. Some of the kids they try to help but some they don’t. It really hard to change the people that older than you because when we tell them they alway said you just the kids I am older than you I know what I need to do. When I ask them when we throw rubbish around is it good?. All the people that I ask said not good they know that is not good but they not practice. Changing Cambodia 2013-2014
2013-2014
This how I write when since 2013-2014
I change Cambodia by I am in Forest ecology and I learn about forest in Cambodia also about the people that logging. I help Cambodia because I can make the blog and shear to the all people in Cambodia. So I can tell the people don’t logging because forest the tree is so important to us. That is I can help Cambodia and people in Cambodia by take care the thing that we have. Why I say this is I help Cambodia because some people in Cambodia they logging for the money. They think it good for them and their family but they not think about the future. When Cambodia have a lot of people logging so the forest will not have any more in Cambodia. And forest is so important to people and animals it have a lot of benefit. Another thing that I can help Cambodia is I do shearation and a lot of people come and I tell them a lot of information that I learn and the thing can help Cambodia. When I do shearation I show the people that come a lot so they can help Cambodia by using our strategies to help. Ex: When I show them about forest and tell about benefit of forest than they will know how forest important and they will help us too.
